Chief Executive Officer
Kianna Scott is CEO of SmarterHelp, where she is closing the clean energy workforce gap by scaling certification-based training that prepares people, especially from communities long left out, for high-growth technical careers in the green economy. She starts from a simple truth: technology alone isn’t enough; you need people prepared to maintain and lead the systems of the future. That’s why SmarterHelp focuses on pathways that open doors, build confidence, and move talent into roles that keep clean energy technology reliable and the clean energy economy moving forward.
Before SmarterHelp, Kianna shaped workforce strategy as Senior Vice President of Learning & Development at ChargerHelp!, where she blended technical instruction with adult learning principles, strong industry insights, and a deep commitment to awareness and access. She then led the spinout of that division into SmarterHelp on August 1, 2025, turning an internal capability into a national workforce development and learning solutions platform. Under her leadership, SmarterHelp has extended its EVSE Reliability Technician Training program, has added additional training areas, expanded industry-aligned curriculum development services, and forged collaborations with K-14 serving institutions.
In 2026, Kianna expanded SmarterHelp’s national impact by securing a strategic partnership with Legacy EV to deliver an integrated workforce solution that bridges the connection between electric vehicle systems and charging infrastructure. Through this collaboration, SmarterHelp strengthened its ability to prepare the next generation of clean energy talent by connecting electric vehicle technology, charging infrastructure, and workforce readiness into a comprehensive training ecosystem.
Under Kianna’s leadership, SmarterHelp has grown into a nationally recognized clean energy workforce development organization, delivering industry-aligned training solutions across multiple states and supporting the preparation of hundreds of learners for emerging careers in the clean energy economy. She has led the organization’s expansion through strategic partnerships with Goodwill International Industries, Brooklyn Navy Yard, workforce agencies, educational institutions, and industry partners focused on building equitable access to high-growth careers.
Her vision and execution have helped SmarterHelp secure more than $1.2 million in revenue in 2026, launch innovative training pathways in EVSE operations and maintenance, battery energy storage systems, distributed energy resources, and clean technology education, while building scalable models that support K–12, adult workforce, and incumbent worker training programs.
SmarterHelp has bolstered clean energy workforce programs in numerous cities nationwide, including Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston, Atlanta, Nashville, Denver, and New York, all under Kianna’s guidance. Her skill in uniting educational, community, and industry stakeholders toward a common goal has established SmarterHelp as a reliable national leader in cultivating the skilled talent essential for future clean energy infrastructure.
Kianna sees talent pipeline development as the missing piece of the clean energy transition: the foundation you have to pour before the rest of the system can hold. New occupations are emerging, which means new skills are needed, a new knowledge base is being built, and durable skills must travel with workers as the clean energy industry evolves. SmarterHelp isn’t just training workers; we’re building a just transition, one credential, one community, and one bridge into green jobs at a time, so the future of clean energy gets built by everyone.
Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Jessica Hutcheson (Ed.D.) serves as Chief Operating Officer at SmarterHelp, where she is advancing equitable access to green economy careers by building career pathways that welcome people into the clean energy transition through certification-based, industry-aligned training. She has always served underserved and underrepresented communities, and she carries that same posture into the workforce systems she helps design, so people feel included, supported, and invested, not sorted out by background or circumstance. In a moment when the country needs more trained hands to meet the demands of new infrastructure, she keeps her focus on a simple promise: there is a role for everybody, and every person deserves a clear way to step into it.
Before SmarterHelp became an independent company, Jessica helped shape the learning and development work that made ChargerHelp’s training programs real, practical, and accessible, championing hands-on experiences that mirror what technicians encounter in the field. She also helped lead a workforce effort in Detroit alongside community and innovation partners, opening doors for local residents to move into electric vehicle operations and maintenance roles and to build stability through skill, certification, and confidence. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly two decades as a school administrator and educator, serving young people and families with the same steady belief that opportunity expands when people are seen, taught, and supported with care.
Jessica wholeheartedly believes the clean energy transition must be built with communities, not simply delivered to them, and that inclusion means people are included, heard, and valued as contributors, especially those who have historically been left outside the room. She speaks about the future in the language of stewardship, because this work reaches beyond any one program or moment; it touches her son, future generations, and the shared responsibility of ensuring a habitable planet on which to live. By investing in local talent, fostering innovation, and developing training that respects lived experience as much as formal education, she is helping SmarterHelp become a shining example of what it takes to build a better future for all, and to keep expanding who gets to build it next.
